General introduction

Overview

The Faculty of Finance and Accounting 1 is an academic constituent unit under the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), established in 2010. Over more than a decade of development and institutional advancement, the Faculty has progressively reinforced its reputation through the continuous qualitative and quantitative enhancement of its academic staff. The substantial majority of the Faculty’s academic personnel hold doctoral degrees, having earned their credentials at prestigious domestic and international institutions. They demonstrate rigorous instructional acumen and scholarly research capabilities while remaining adaptable and forward-looking in responding to modern societal developments.

Amid the paradigm shift driven by digital transformation and artificial intelligence across modern enterprises, the finance and accounting sectors are undergoing profound restructuring. In alignment with these dynamics, the Faculty’s curricula are deliberately designed to integrate digital technologies and benchmark against established international standards to serve the evolving digital economy. Pedagogical delivery balances theoretical fundamentals with empirical execution, equipping undergraduates not only with specialized core proficiencies but also with advanced capabilities in technological integration and financial data analytics to meet contemporary workforce demands.

As a primary training base for high-caliber human resources in finance and accounting, the Faculty continually innovates, committing to an advanced, intellectually dynamic, and experientially integrated academic environment that aligns with modern domestic and international recruitment expectations.

MISSION

The Faculty of Finance and Accounting 1 undertakes the mission to generate and disseminate specialized knowledge in accounting and financial technology within the digital environment; cultivate high-caliber human resources equipped to adapt to and lead the digital evolution of the industry; and advance societal development through applied research, policy consultation, and technical contributions to the sustainable development of the national digital economy.

VISION

By 2030, the Faculty of Finance and Accounting 1 aspires to emerge as a preeminent academic and research entity in Vietnam in accounting and digital financial technologies. The Faculty aims to pioneer modern technological integration across its pedagogical operations, endowing graduates with international competitiveness and contributing to the strategic advancement of the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology among regional institutions.

ROLES AND MANDATES

  • Delivering undergraduate and specialized degree tracks: Accounting, International Accounting (ACCA-oriented), Financial Technology (FinTech), and Financial and Business Data Analytics, aligned with global integration priorities.

  • Administering and delivering instructional modules under the Faculty’s academic remit across all institutional degree frameworks, maintaining quality assurance and instructional efficacy.

  • Designing and executing scholarly research initiatives, facilitating international partnerships, and liaising with corporate and professional bodies to bridge tertiary education with industrial practice.

  • Conducting civic, ethical, and professional governance for academic personnel and the student body; advancing faculty development; developing specialized disciplinary offerings; and modernizing academic infrastructure to support teaching and research.

  • Evaluating performance metrics for academic staff, administrative personnel, and undergraduates within the Faculty, while contributing to the institutional evaluation of executive leadership.

  • Coordinating with institutional associations, including the Trade Union and the Youth Union, to administer academic competitions and co-curricular programs for faculty and students.

The Faculty systematically prioritizes continuous pedagogical enhancement, scholarly research expansion, and collaborative alliances with esteemed domestic and international partners, contributing to the institutional development of the Institute and broader societal progress.
